Due to the widespread COVID-19 pandemic the Positive Voices Caucus would like to take the opportunity to reach a greater community. Achieving this goal involves being active on various online platforms. The Positive Voices Caucus shall be hosting a series of webinar workshops!
About the Webinars
In this series, a variety of webinars are offered. Topics and discussion range from HIV treatment options to current HIV campaigns and their impacts on the HIV positive community. The kick starter session will take place July 6th, 2020 from 4pm to 6pm (MDT).
The Kickstarter webinar is co-hosted with CATIE. It shall begin with a session on HIV treatment content, specifically the biomedical knowledge of how treatment works, the benefits of treatment and progression of untreated HIV; as well as an overview of treatment options. Following this, the Alberta Stigma Index Peer Researchers, some of whom are PVC members, will present preliminary data on the Alberta Stigma Index and lead discussion on its intersections with U=U and stigma. Afterwards, a Q&A period will be facilitated, highlighting personal experience and implications of medical developments and campaigns within the HIV positive community.
Subsequent sessions will carry pertinent points brought up through the Q and A period, in addition to any topics brought forth during following PVC meetings.
The PVC kindly asks that interested parties register for these workshops. After registering there are a variety of options for maintaining privacy, such as altering ones name on the webinar and turning the camera off. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact the PVC chair.
