Who we are

The Positive Voices Caucus (PVC), sponsored by the Alberta Community Council on HIV (ACCH), is a network for and by Albertans living with HIV.

Our vision is for all people living with HIV and AIDS in Alberta to have equitable opportunity to lead lives that are full of good health and well-being and free from stigma.

Our mission is fulfilled in three ways: by building capacity within people living with HIV and AIDS (PHAs) in Alberta; by providing a representative voice for PHAs across Alberta to advocate on their behalf and shape the work of the ACCH, its member organizations, and other relevant stakeholders; and through ensuring that Albertans have accurate and up-to-date information about HIV and AIDS to both prevent new HIV infections and end HIV stigma.

We value the MIPA and GIPA principles and will advocate to ensure that PHAs are meaningfully involved in all decisions related to their health and well-being.

We value collaboration and will aim to work in partnership with all stakeholders engaged in work relevant to the health and wellbeing of PHAs in Alberta.

We value all parts of people living with HIV and will be advocates for their mental, physical, sexual, and social health.

We value transparency and will aim to ensure that the Positive Voices Caucus operates in a way that is both open and community-accountable.

We value inclusion and will aim to ensure that the Positive Voices Caucus is reflective of the diversity of PHAs in Alberta.
