The Positive Voices Conference is a conference organized by and for people living with HIV across the province of Alberta. The Positive Voices Conference provides an opportunity for people living with HIV to form meaningful connections with their peers while also developing key knowledge and skills that they can apply back in their local context.

The Positive Voices Caucus recognizes that people living with HIV come from a variety of backgrounds, with unique skills and experiences, and varying levels of knowledge. Therefore, the caucus tries to find a range of topics and presenters to ensure there is something interesting, educational, and challenging for all in attendance. Some examples of recent sessions participants have been treated to include:

Biomedical Developments in HIV Prevention

Telling Your Story

How to Create Change in Your Local Context

HIV and Alberta’s African, Caribbean, and Black Communities

HIV and Aging

Mental Health First Aid

The Positive Voices Conference moves around the province, with the last three conferences being held in Nordegg, Morley, and Jasper, Alberta. Transportation, accommodation, and meals are covered for all participants to ensure that the conference is accessible to all people living with HIV.

The last Positive Voices Conference occurred in January 2017. We are currently awaiting additional funding before we are able to schedule the next conference.
