About: “HIV North has supported individuals living with HIV/AIDS in Alberta’s North for over 25 years. We are a not-for-profit AIDS service organization based in Grande Prairie, Peace River, and Fort McMurray. We promote awareness, initiate prevention and provide care and support throughout the northern region of the province. Whether you are living positive, have been personally affected by HIV, or hope never to be, connect with us. When individuals and communities seek to understand issues surrounding HIV/AIDS we are all the better for it. It is through this understanding and its application in our lives that the vision of HIV North, a world without AIDS, will be realized.”
Services provided by HIV North, which can differ depending on location, include: Naloxone/Overdose training and access; Safer sex supplies; Harm reduction supplies such as clean needles and related injection drug supplies; Community Education; Sex Trade Worker support; LGBTQ Youth Support; Scheduled HIV & STI Testing. About: The Northern Alberta Program (NAP) is the program within Alberta Health Services (AHS) which provides specialized HIV care for people living with HIV in the Edmonton region and the rest of Northern Alberta. NAP operates out of two locations: the Kaye Edmonton Clinic and the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
